FISHING FROM BOTHWELL BRIDGE TO DALMARNOCK BRIDGE
FISHING WITH THIS PERMIT WILL ALLOW YOU TO FISH WITH FLY OR BAIT ONLY.
Season From 15TH March -30th September.
The Brown Trout permit allows you to fish for Coarse fish and Grayling from 15th March 2023-14 March 2024
1.Fishing permitted as indicated by sign posts.
2.The permit must be carried at all times, no angler to be accompanied by dog or dogs.
3.Restricted areas: fishing is strictly prohibited above the upstream side of the red markers on the plinths of David Livingston foot bridge and 50 yds above Blantyre weir, No fishing at cuningar loop conservation area.
4.Trout/Coarse fishers are to give way to Salmon fishers at all times.
5.Brown Trout line strength no more than 4lb,hooks no larger than size 12,Trout under 11″ to be returned to river unharmed/also Coarse fish.
6.Pike line strength no more than 10 lb to be fished with a wire trace.
7.Barbel line strength no more than 10lb to be fished with barbless hooks size 6 or less.
8.Two rods at a time will be allowed for Coarse anglers.
9.No live bait or Prawns/Shrimps/fish paste/power bait, no gaff or similar instruments, lead core lines are strictly prohibited.
10.Mid Clyde AA will not be responsible for members personal equipment/vehicles or contents of vehicles.
11.Lighting of fires is prohibited and no litter or discarded tackle to be left near the river, it is an offence under the litter act.
12.Anglers must approach the river by recognised routes only and close all gates.
13.All poaching incidents to be reported immediately to local police on 101 or 999.
14 All pollution incidents to be reported immediately to SEPA on 0800807060.
15.During the month of October fishing is restricted to one hour before dawn and ceases one hour after dusk.
16.Permits to be shown to water bailiffs on request.
