Covid -19 Mid Clyde Possible reopening

The Scottish government recently published their Covid-19 Routemap it specifies how and under what circumstances the lockdown will be eased. If the number of new infections continues to drop then restrictions can ease.

We are all anxious to get back on the water and it looks like on the 28th the First Minister will give us a date to reopen under new regulations and advice.
Most important of these being that current social distancing must remain in place. This means for phase one that you can meet up with members of one other household provided you are outdoors and two meters apart, preferably wearing a face covering.
As the Routemap reads now fishing will be reopened to permit holders who live within 5 miles (although there is some reason to hope this could be extended to 40 or 50 miles when the announcement is made). There will be more detailed information on the 28th and we will post it as soon as we can.

New advice from Mid Clyde Angling Association

Anyone fishing Mid Clyde MUST have their valid permit on their possession, no exceptions,no more than 6 persons  gathering at any one part of the river, the wearing of disposable gloves and the use of a face mask or face coverings are also advised, but above all keep to the two meters social distancing guidelines at all times, hand washing is still a big thing and we would ask you to carry a hand sanitizer and use as it often as possible.
Please be patient when waiting your turn to fish and when fishing remember to cast and step ,this way everyone will get their chance.
We understand that there will be a lot of members itching to get out and wet a line but as stated above please be patient and we will all get a chance.
The bailiffs will be upping their patrols when the restrictions are eased and we have asked Police Scotland to help with more patrols from them also.
Stay safe Stay 2 metres apart.

We would appreciate your compliance with the above advice.

In line with the social distancing legislation from The Scottish Government we need to limit the amount of permits sold, therefor past members will be given priority for permits, other applicants will be held in a waiting list. The sale of day permits have been suspended for now.

We would appreciate no more phone calls or texts to the Treasure or Chairman.
